I get it – EVERYTHING is getting expensive. I'm sick of being forced to pay ever increasing prices and I'm sure you are too. It sucks.

I used to wing it and walk around the supermarket throwing in processed foods that would make a meal. I'd still have to shop several times a week and it was getting EXPENSIVE and unsustainable.

I lived through the 2007 recession. I had a 110% mortgage and I was on maternity leave. I had one source of income that halved overnight. I had to return to work after only 3 months off with my newborn. I was angry. Angry at the government but also angry with myself for the situation I'd put myself in.

I was unprepared. I was never going to put myself in a situation that I had no control over again. I decided to become prepared.

I maybe should mention that I wrote emergency plans for a living. I covered environmental, safety, security and business risks and it took a while for me to realise I had the knowledge to write the emergency plan I needed for my life!

I did more research into preparedness, in the UK, USA, Australia and Canada. It was a gamechanger! I learnt how to get the most from my money, how to diversify my income, monetise my knowledge and provide a stable and secure life for my family! My life became less stressful and became a hell of a lot easier!

Being prepared has transformed my life. It brought me the money to pay off debt, followed by building an emergency fund and working towards financial independece. I have the peace of mind to know that whatever emergency or situation I find myself in, I can provide for my family.
